Leadership And Ethics Of Leadership - 1448 Words
Leadership and Ethics Leadership styles and approaches vary from situation to situation, including the personality, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the leader and the followers. Employees teach the leader how to lead them. Their competence, ability, and willingness to complete a task are indicators, which assist the direction of leadership the leader takes. Keeping all of this in mind, we will describe and analyze the Situational and Style leadership approaches. Situational Leadership Situational leadership is an effective way to lead a task, project, or operation. Leaders must observe the behaviors of the employees to determine the appropriate amount of guidance and direction that is necessary to help them excel. The readiness exhibited by the employees determines the amount of direct guidance and development that is needed in each situation. The employeeââ¬â¢s maturity and ability to direct his or her self within the organizational structure are taken into great consideration. In most cases when an employee is capable of completing the work they are assigned the less direct leadership they will require. Leaders need to be skilled in their ability to convey the appropriate amount of guidance, emotional and social support, in addition to, showing appreciation for their employees.
